What drama to end the women’s Eurotour here is Slovenia as Russia’s Kristina Tkach wins the Predator women’s Lasko Open beating Germany’s Kristina Grim 7-6 in today’s final. Kristina Grim had Tkach on the ropes, and twice let her of the hook, most notably when leading 6-5 and missing a straight 9-ball for the match. At 6-6, Grim again had the chance to seal her first victory but again, the nerves bit the young German and she gifted Tkach the win.
That win takes the Russian’s haul of titles to an impressive 8 Eurotour crowns in her short career but none will ever be so dramatic. A tearful Grim acknowledged her mistakes cost her the first title she’s been looking for but vowed to be back stronger next time. “I’m mad now she said but I have only myself to blame”.
After Kristina Grim only decided to participate at the very last minute and jumping into her friend, Tobias Hoiss’s car on Wednesday morning, she will be very satisfied with her best result to date on the women’s Eurotour, at least when she gets time to cool down and reflect on her missed chances, she’s strong and is determined to make amends for this missed opportunity today.
Next tour stop for the women is the Predator Women’s Antalya open from the 28th – 30th October.
