The final, pre-championship round of the Billiards Ekstraklasa begins!

This Wednesday, June 10, the final round of the Billiards Ekstraklasa, which precedes the Grand Final, kicks off at the Silesia City Center mall in Katowice. This season, the final three rounds have been combined with the semi-final matches, meaning that by Saturday we will already know the two teams that will battle for the Polish Team Championship this autumn.

Among the favorites to achieve this honor are, naturally, the players of GKS Katowice, who remain undefeated in the competition so far. Their record stands at five victories, totaling 15 points. Another favorite is, of course, the 9-time Polish Champion, Fortis Bilard Kielce, who gathered the same number of points as “Gieksa” during the previous series but has a weaker small-points balance, placing them in second position ahead of the third round.

Teams with an appetite to reach the semi-finals and directly compete for the national team championship include Strefa Łódź, Bank Spółdzielczy w Sokółce – Piotrowski Żuraw Białystok, Fortis II Kielce, and Europool Arkadia Tczew. Each of these teams, except for the latter, has secured 3 victories, making them contenders for the highest goals this season. Tczew remains slightly behind.

However, there are also teams in the Billiards Ekstraklasa that are focusing more on the battle to avoid relegation. In the regular season matches so far, TCF HUB – Retro Team Kraków, Akademia Bilardowa Rokietnica, and Auta.ch – 147 Break Warszawa have gathered only one point each, and any further slip-up could mean relegation for them.
