FOLLOWING ON FROM the success of the recently completed men’s and women’s Euro Tour events, the festival of pool continues in the southern Turkish region of Antalya with the annual DYNAMIC BILLARD European Championships, Seniors and Ladies which gets underway tomorrow (Monday18th).
Running over nine days, the event incorporates three categories – men’s and women’s plus-45 and men’s plus-55, which was successfully introduced for the first time last year in Slovenia. All the action takes place at the lavish Xanadu Resort Hotel in Belek.
This year’s championship has a huge take-up. In the 9-ball discipline there are over 150 players competing across the three categories and an extra day has been added to the Championships, which has expanded from its normal eight-day stint.
As usual there are four disciplines. The over-45 men compete in 14.1, 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball as do the over-55 men, while the women have 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball tournaments. In addition, all three categories contest the climactic team competition. The action gets underway at 9.00 on Monday morning with the two men’s 14.1 tournaments.
