The Hanoi Junior Open returns to the World Nineball Tour alongside the thrilling Mansion Sports Hanoi Open Pool Championship in Hanoi, Vietnam from October 11-12.

Since the inaugural Hanoi Junior Open last year, Matchroom’s commitment to growing the grassroots of pool continues to expand, with the Hanoi Junior Open returning as the fourth junior tournament on the 2024 World Nineball Tour.
The Hanoi Junior Open will offer a prize fund of $10,000 in a 64-player single elimination format. Entry will cost $100, which will be refunded after the event is completed, provided they participate.
Defending Hanoi Open champion Jayson Shaw said: “I’m thrilled to see the Hanoi Junior Open returning this year. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young players to demonstrate their skills on a global stage. Supporting the next generation is crucial for the growth of the sport, and this tournament not only allows them to compete but also learn and gain invaluable experience in a professional setting.”
Onboard Sportswear will provide a free custom Hanoi Junior Open jersey so all can feel and look the part as they compete in the same main event arena of the Mansion Sports Hanoi Open Pool Championship at Vietnam National Sports Complex from 8-13 October 2024.
Young cueists can anticipate an exhilarating competition reminiscent of last year’s event, where 16-year-old AJ Manas was crowned winner of the first Hanoi Junior Open by defeating the Chinese Taipei teenager Liao Hung-Yen 9-2.
The final will be live streamed on the Matchroom Pool social media pages with coverage also set to feature during the live broadcast on Vietcontent in Vietnam, Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, and networks worldwide.
Juniors competing in the tournament will not be eligible to compete in the main Hanoi Open Pool Championship due to match schedules. As part of the entry to the the Hanoi Junior Open, juniors will receive a guest pass and three additional tickets for the days they compete, allowing them to have time to study the world’s best as they battle.
