2016 World 9-Ball China Open will be held on August 21th-28th in Shanghai, China. As the qualifying tournament gets underway tomorrow with qualifiers 21th to 23th, there are over 70 players in Men’s division and about 50 in Women’s division, competing for 8 qualifiers in each division to the main tournament.
The main tournament starts 25th of August and the final is 28th. 64 men players and 48 women players will be put into groups and apply double elimination format until men’s last 32 and women’s last 16. Until then the game changes from race to 9 for men and 7 for women, to race to 11 for men and race to 9 for women with alternate breaks.
This has been the 8th China Open, which has been supported by Peoples’ Government of Tangzhen Pudong New Area throughout the years. It is the first year the tournament is held in Pudong Tangzhen Culture & Sports Center after 7 years in Shanghai Pudong Yuanshen Stadium.
This event is joined by players over 30 countries , including the world’s top 16 of men players and top 8 women’s players. The new world 9 ball champion Albin Ouschan, the youngest winner of the Amway Cup Chezka Centeno, along with top players like Darren Appleton、Mika Immonen、Thorsten Hohmann
、Ralf Souquet、Noyuki Oi、Liu Haitao、Dennis Orcollo、Pin-Yi Ko、Chen Siming、Liu Sha Sha、Kim Ga-Young、Kelly Fisher、Jasmin Ouschan、Rubilen Amit、Chihiro Kawahara and Chou Chieh-Yu will compete for a total prize of 373,600 USD. The Men division has $208,000 USD on offer with $40,000 USD going to the eventual champion same as last year but women’s increases from last year’s $32000 USD to $36000 USD for this year’s winner. 2016世界9球中國公開賽將再次於上海登場。
資格賽結束後，會內賽將緊接於25號登場，
參加會內賽的男選手64人，女選手48人，
今年是世界9球中國公開賽連續第8年的舉辦，
據悉，世界排名男子前16位和女子前8位的選手都將參賽。
、Ralf Souquet、大井直幸、劉海濤、Dennis Orcollo、柯秉逸、陳思明、劉莎莎、金佳映、Kelly Fisher、Jasmin Ouschan、Rubilen Amit、河原千尋及周婕妤等世界頂尖選手將悉數到場參賽，
而在總獎金部分，今年也有所提升，尤其是在女子組方面。

Stage 1 (Qualifying)
※ Single elimination、Winner breaks.
※ Men Division – 8 winners qualifiers、Race to 9. Women Division – 8 winners qualifiers、Race to 7 ( 2 qualifiers from Day 1, 2 qualifiers from Day 2 and 4 qualifiers for the last day.)
※ No seeded player in stage 1.
Stage 2 (Main Event)
※ WPA 9- ball rule with the 3 point break shot rule
※ Double Elimination to Men last 32 & Women last 16，Men division- Race to 9. Women division- Race to 7、Alternate breaks。
※ Men last 32 & Women last 16 – Single Elimination，Men Division- Race to 11. Women Division- Race to 9、Alternate breaks。
※ Stage 2 seeded player: Top 16 men players and women players according to current WPA rankings.
※ Stage 2: 2 from winner’s bracket will be seeded into Final Round according to their results from group rounds, 2 from loser’s bracket will be drawn randomly (Men’s); 1 from winner’s bracket will be seeded into Final Round according to their results from group rounds, 1 from loser’s bracket will be drawn randomly (Women’s).
The interpretation of the competition information belongs to the Host. Matters not mentioned herein will be announced.

會內賽: 8月25-28日
比賽地點 – 唐鎮文化体育中心
競賽辦法：
(1) 賽事執行WPA規則。
(2) 比賽分為會外賽和會內賽兩個階段。
(3) 會外賽共分3場進行，全部為單敗淘汰賽，男子搶9局，女子搶7局，勝方開球，第一、二場男子組和女子組各取2名，第三場各取4名晉級會內賽。
(4) 會內賽第一階段為雙敗淘汰賽，男子搶9局、女子搶7局，輪流開球，男子前32名和女子前16名晉級第二階段；第二階段為單敗淘汰賽，男子搶11局、女子搶9局，輪流開球；決賽男子搶13局、女子搶11局。
