The world’s top players are in the game! For several days, Starachowice will become the capital of Polish billiards. The Polish Billiards Championship 2025, featuring a star-studded line-up of the globe’s top billiards players, kicked off on December 8th. But that’s not all, as Starachowice will also host the Polish and European Championships for People with Disabilities. Admission to the events and the LIVE broadcast are free.
December in Polish billiards is a time of rivalry among the absolute elite in the Polish Men’s and Women’s Billiards Championship, which this time is hosted in Starachowice, specifically at the local Hotel Europa. And these are by no means exaggerated words, considering that players as renowned in world billiards as Wojciech Szewczyk (World Champion), who plays for GKS Katowice, and Daniel Macioł (World Ranking Vice Leader) are in the running for the gold medals.
The list of favourites for gold is much longer and must include last year’s champions, such as Mieszko Fortuński (UKS Baribal Lubin), Konrad Juszczyszyn (Royal Bytom), Karol Skowerski (Fortis Bilard Kielce), Oliwia Zalewska (Akademia Bilardowa Rokietnica), as well as Katarzyna Wesołowska from Fortis Kielce. The competition is very tight, and Szymon Kural from TCF HUB -Retro Team Kraków (World Cup silver medallist in Qatar), Mariusz Skoneczny (Fortis Bilard Kielce), Mateusz Śniegocki (Strefa Łódź), Hubert Łopotko (Bank Spółdzielczy w Sokółce LP Sokółka), and Dominik Jastrząb (winner of this year’s European Cup tournament) are also eager to win more medals in their careers.
“I have no doubt that the Polish Championship is one of the most demanding and best-attended tournaments not only in Europe but also in the world. Thanks to this, we will be able to watch billiards at its best in Starachowice. This is confirmed by the fact that the American television station Billiard TV, among others, decided to broadcast the championships, thanks to which the recent World Cup competitions held in Kielce recorded well over 1 million views in the USA. This is great promotion for Starachowice, as well as for our region and Poland,” emphasizes Grzegorz Kędzierski, president of the Polish Billiards Association.

But that’s not all, as this year’s competition in Starachowice is accompanied by two other events: the Polish Championship for People with Disabilities and (held for the first time) the European Championship for People with Disabilities. These events are the icing on the cake of the Polish Championship in the Men’s and Women’s categories. In total, we will enjoy billiards in Starachowice until December 20th. Admission to all matches is free.

December 13 (12:00): 9-ball final, followed by Men’s and Women’s award ceremonies (14:00)

December 19 (18:30): 10-ball awards and Championships closure
December 20: Participants’ departure
