New York City– After 2 days of play, defending champion Thorsten Hohmann of Germany stands at the top of the standings thus far with a 4-0 record and only 51 balls made against him in 4 matches. But Asian newcomer Liwen Lo of Taiwan & Japan is right behind him with a 4-0 record and 58 balls against him. An impressive start for the Asian’s debut.
Last year’s finalist Darren Appleton of England looks solid with a 4-0 record, while Earl Strickland of the USA hammered Philippines Dennis Orcullo 100-18. Scotland’s Jayson Shaw is still on fire with a strong 100-49 win over USA’s Van Boening, that Shaw trailed 49- -2 before Shaw went on a 102 & out run. Finland’s Immonen also looks good with a 4-0 record that included a win over USA’s Johnny Archer while Ralph Eckert of Germany defeated USA’s John Schmidt to stay 4-0 as well.
