For the duration of one whole month, the Golden Tulip Hotel Jagershorst, Leende, The Netherlands, will be the home of high class pool billiard action. In the beginning, the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Youth will be played, starting on Monday, July 31st and being scheduled to finish on August 7th, 2017. From August 10-12, 2017, The Dynamic Billard Euro-Tour will follow the Youth EC. August 12-13, the Women’s Euro-Tour will be featured. Following these two prize money events, the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Seniors and Ladies will continue the pool festival in Leende. 23 tables are located on two floors. One room holds 14 tables and is situated in the basement of the Golden Tulip Hotel Jagershorst. This room is usually also used for the Euro-Tour events. Since this upcoming month holds so many events, a huge „tent“ which looks more like an exhibition hall was built on top of the roof of the basement. In that tent, 9 more tables have been set up to make a total of 23 pool billiard tables ready for the tournament.
Every day, one match from the events will be shown LIVE on the Facebook page of the EPBF. All Facebook users may check out the high standard of quality which is provided for all the events and see what the Kozoom members receive all the time. You can see all the matches live via www.kozoom.com who stream the whole event on 23 tables on the internet LIVE. The FB live matches are announced on the EPBF Facebook page around noon every day. Results and schedules can be found at www.europeanpoolchampionships.
142 players from 27 European countries have been nominated by their respective national federation to come to Leende and fight for a medal and honour for their country. The categories are Under 17, Under 19 and Girls. They will play straight pool (only U17 and U19), 10-ball, 8-ball, 9-ball and team competition during the Championships. Coveted trophies and titles are at stake for these youngsters who will do their best in order to collect a trophy and/or a medal. The tournament starts with straight pool. Matches begin Monday, July 31st, at 09:00 CET and the finals are scheduled for Tuesday, August 1st, at 12:30 CET. Then, the event switches to 10-ball mode.
Straight pool is one very popular game among billiard players since it is known to be probably the most difficult discipline of all and it requires a lot of tactics, technical understanding as well as perfect execution of the shots and good positioning in order to be able to win a match at straight pool. It is also used by many coaches as the best game to practice and learn pool billiards in total. The defending Champions Wiktor Zielinski (POL) in U17 and Patrick Hofmann (GER) in U19 are both in their respective fields and will have a hard time defending their titles another year.
The event will be hosted by the European Governing Body for Pool, the European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF) and organized by International Billiard Promotion (IBP). For further information and reference please go to the federation website www.europeanpoolchampionships.
