Day Three Result
Team Europe 8 – 3 Team USA
Team Europe captain Jayson Shaw said: “USA should have won both the first singles and the team match – that would’ve been a huge swing. Now, I don’t see a way back. We just need to stay composed and finish the job. The crowd has been unbelievable and we’re ready to bring this home tomorrow.”
Team USA captain Skyler Woodward remained defiant: “Two big wins tonight. The USA spirit is still alive. Tomorrow’s a fight, but we’re here to push all the way. We’re not done.”
Match Eight
Moritz Neuhausen 5 – 4 Tyler Styer
Styer countered Neuhausen’s opener with a clinical three-rack run to take control, but the German youngster dug deep, stealing momentum late in the match. After levelling 4–4 with a brilliant jump escape, Neuhausen survived a tense final rack — Styer missing a decisive 9-ball under pressure—to steal a crucial point for Europe.
Neuhausen said: “I feel a little bad for Tyler—he’s under a lot of pressure. But that may have been the biggest point of the night. On paper I was done, but I fought back. We set the tone again. Their spirits are broken, and we’re feeling strong.”

Match Nine
Pijus Labutis & David Alcaide 3 – 5 Fedor Gorst & Billy Thorpe
Gorst and Thorpe delivered one of USA’s best performances of the tournament, surging to a 3–0 lead with aggressive shot-making and strong table control. Labutis and Alcaide rallied to pull within one, but a missed 6-9 combo from Europe allowed the Americans to reach the hill before Thorpe closed the match with conviction.
Thorpe commented: “That win felt unreal. Me and Fedor have become close over the last year, so taking a point with the world number one means a lot. I pulled off some big shots and it felt like things were finally rolling our way. We’re fighting to make something special happen.”
Match Ten
Team Europe 5 – 4 Team USA
A rollercoaster contest saw the USA storm ahead 2–0 through Van Boening and Gorst, before Europe fought back with composed clearances from Filler and Alcaide. Momentum shifted repeatedly, but Europe reached the hill at 4–3 after capitalising on American errors. USA levelled once more, but a missed 6-ball from Woodward in the decider opened the door for Alcaide to deliver another huge team victory.
Shaw said: “The team match is always 50/50, but that was massive. These last two points were unbelievable. The atmosphere is electric, this is why we play the Mosconi Cup.
This is why we always deliver at home.”

Match Eleven
David Alcaide 3 – 5 Shane Van Boening
Van Boening delivered the composed, clinical performance USA desperately needed. After capitalising on early errors from Alcaide, the American great controlled the rhythm, withstanding a late push from the Spaniard before closing the match after a tactical exchange.
Van Boening said: “I feel like I’ve been playing solid all week. David played well, but my job was to stay steady and take the chances when they came. We know the odds, but we’re not out. Team USA still has a fighting chance, and we’re coming tomorrow with everything we’ve got.
