The stage is set for a thrilling climax to the 2025 LiveSB.io US Open Pool Championship. You don’t want to miss it!
Aloysius Yapp produced a commanding 10-4 victory over Ko Pin Yi, booking his place in his second US Open final. The Singaporean star, already a two-time Matchroom Major winner this year, is now just one win away from redemption and a long-awaited US Open crown.
“I still can’t believe it. I feel relieved – it’s been a topsy-turvy week but I’ve had the rolls when I needed them. The last time I faced a Ko in the US Open semi-finals I was whitewashed, so to defeat Ko Pin Yi feels like redemption. Now, it’s all about focusing on the final. Fedor has been incredible this season, but at the end of the day it’s just me and the table.”
Standing in his way is World No.1 and defending US Open champion Fedor Gorst, who battled past reigning Hanoi Open champion Johann Chua with an 11-7 win. The Russian raced into an early lead before Chua fought back, but held firm to reach his third consecutive US Open final.
“It’s a huge achievement to be in the final for the third year in a row. I made some errors and Johann really pushed me, but I felt I played solid overall. Now, I’m looking forward to one more big match.”
Don’t miss a moment of the action as Yapp and Gorst collide tonight at 6:30pm EDT (local time) in the US Open final.
This is pool at its very best – will Yapp finally conquer the US Open, or will Gorst cement his legacy with back-to-back titles?
