Ko Ping Chung of Chinese Taipei, Huang Qingning of China, and Lin Cheng Yen of Chinese Taipei were crowned champions in the Men’s 10-Ball, Women’s 9-Ball, and Junior 9-Ball events respectively at the 2026 Asian Pool Championships.

The Junior 9-Ball and Women’s 9-Ball finals were contested earlier in the day, producing two exciting championship matches.

In the Junior 9-Ball final, Lin Cheng Yen overcame Caden Lau of Hong Kong China with a 9-6 victory. After trailing 1-2, Lin responded by winning three consecutive racks to take a 4-2 lead. Caden fought back strongly, claiming the next three racks to edge ahead 5-4. However, Lin regained control of the match, winning five of the next six racks to seal the title and the gold medal. Fellow Chinese Taipei player Lin Tzung Yi and Prince C.D. Santos of the Philippines, both losing semi-finalists, shared the bronze medals.

2026 Asian Pool Championships - awarding

The Women’s 9-Ball final delivered a dramatic finish as Huang Qingning of China edged Chen Chia Hua of Chinese Taipei 11-10 in a deciding rack. Chen appeared in control for much of the match, extending her advantage from 5-3 to 8-4 before moving within one rack of victory at 10-8. Huang, however, held her composure under pressure and captured the final three racks in succession to complete a remarkable comeback and secure the championship. Wang Wan Ling of Chinese Taipei and Sakura Muramatsu of Japan, the losing semi-finalists, shared the bronze medals.

The evening session featured the Men’s 10-Ball final between Ko Ping Chung of Chinese Taipei and Mohammad Soufi of Syria. The contest began evenly before a series of unforced errors from Soufi and tactical safety from Ko allowed him to build momentum. Ko steadily increased his advantage from 3-1 to 6-3 and then 9-4 before closing out the match 11-6 to claim the Asian title. Raymond Faraon of the Philippines and Naoyuki Oi of Japan earned the bronze medals as the tournament’s losing semi-finalists.

Following the conclusion of the finals, ACBS Secretary General Michael Alkhoury, together with representatives of the Vietnam Federation, local authorities and sponsors, presented the medals and trophies to the winners during the official victory ceremony.
