Biado, Capito Advance Unbeaten to Last 32 at 2026 Asian 10-Ball Championship

The two finalists of the 2025 Asian 10-Ball Pool Championship, Carlo Biado and Robbie Capito of the Philippines, continued their impressive form by advancing unbeaten through the double-elimination stage of the 2026 Asian 10-Ball Pool Championship, securing their places in the Last 32 knockout stage.

Both players progressed from the winners’ bracket after recording two consecutive victories.

Biado opened his campaign with a convincing 8-4 win over Iran’s Soheil Shahriari before surviving a thrilling second-round encounter against Chinese Taipei’s Liu Ri Teng. The Filipino star edged the deciding rack to seal an 8-7 victory and book his place in the single-elimination phase.

Capito also enjoyed a flawless run, defeating Vietnam’s Nguyen Anh Tuan 8-5 in his opening match before producing a dominant 8-2 victory over Indonesia’s James Aranas to confirm his Last 32 berth.

Several other leading Asian cueists also secured qualification from the winners’ bracket, including India’s Pankaj Advani, Japan’s Naoyuki Oi, Syria’s Mohammad Soufi, Indonesia’s Albert Janurat, Chinese Taipei’s Ko Ping Chung, Iraq’s Ameer Ali, and Vietnam’s Luong Duc Thien.

The Philippines emerged as the best-represented nation in the knockout stage, with seven additional players apart from Biado in the Last 32: Albert James Manas, Sean Mark Malayan, Johann Chua, Alexis Ferrer, Raymund Faraon, Jeffrey Ignacio, and Jonas Magpantay.

The final qualification matches from the losers’ bracket will be played on Sunday, with the remaining 16 players completing the Last 32 lineup for the championship’s single-elimination stage.
