This event is being hosted by the “Shanghai Billiards Association” (SHBA) and will take place between 15 – 18 November in the Shanghai Huimin Middle School.
The champions that will emerge form this Official Event will be awarded Medals and Certificate and our Champions will carry the Title of World Champion for the rest of their lives.
Players from more than 20 countries will participate and all players will gain greatly from the experience of competing against the world’s best young players.
Being played in China also gives the visiting players an ideal opportunity to explore some of the history of one of the world’s oldest civilizations after the competition has ended.
WPA President Ian Anderson announced that while he expects the competition to be fierce in all divisions, there is an extra incentive courtesy of SHBA. As there is no prize money on offer, SHBA has offered to send the winners of the girls division and the 17 & 18 boy’s division to their respective 2015 world championship event. The women’s WC will be played in Guilin, China while the men’s WC will once again be played in Doha, Qatar. Their travel and accommodation expenses will be met by SHBA.
SHBA deserve to be congratulated on this most magnanimous initiative. These two players will benefit so much for the opportunity to compete against their peers in the most competitive of all tournaments, the men’s or women’s world championship. Good luck to both of them and indeed for all players.
2014世界青少年錦標賽由上海市台球協會主辦，比賽將於11月15 – 18日在上海回民中學拉開序幕。此賽事是一項無獎金制的比賽，贏得冠軍的球員，除獎牌及獎狀為獎勵之外，當然還有”世界冠軍”的頭銜。
所有代表參賽的球員，將對決世界上最優秀的年輕球員們，展開激烈的同台競爭，對於年輕球員們而言，也將從比賽競爭當中獲得極大的經驗。中國文明是世界上最古老的文明之一，比賽結束後，也讓球員們有一個很好的機會去能去探索一番。
世界花式撞球協會主席Ian Anderson先生，除預計到時各分組都將上演一番激烈競爭之外，也宣布上海市台球協會 (SHBA) 將提供一個額外的獎勵。 由於此賽事並無獎金分配，上海台協將提供2015年世錦賽資格給予贏得冠軍的選手，青少女組將可參加2015年在桂林舉辦的女子世錦賽。而青少年17 & 18歲組冠軍，將前往參加2015年在卡達所要舉辦的世錦賽。而他們的旅費及住宿費用也將由上海台協所包辦。
