The second day of World juniors 9-ball championships continued with winner qualification rounds in all three divisions.

In the pupils division, Wiktor Zielinski (Poland) played against Robie James Capito (Hongkong). The match turned out to be a very exciting thriller with ups and downs from both players. After the few mistakes in the start of the match, Wiktor has found himself 0:3 behind. This made Wiktor use his timeout opportunity and that helped him not only to level the match at 4:4 but also get on the hill first. However, 11 rack was full of missed opportunities by both players and it was Wiktor who missed the easy 4 ball which allowed Robie James to use the momentum level the match again. With his powerful break, Wiktor made three balls on the break in the deciding frame. However, he was a bit unlucky to find himself snookered behind the six ball. With both, push-out and jump possibilities Wiktor chooses to be aggressive and went for the jump shot. The risk didn’t pay at all since Robie James run the last remaining balls and secured his place in the quarter-final.

The under 19 winners qualification match which got so much attention from the crowd was a match between local guy Fedor Gorst and Patrick Hoffman from Germany. Both players had a lot of wins in European championships and this fact heated the expectations of the crowd. While Patrick started strong, quickly clearing first two racks, he missed a huge opportunity to make 3:0 while scratching on the nine. This mistake seemed to be a turning point of the match since after that Patrick spent most of the time in his chair, looking how Fedor takes rack by rack securing confident 9:2 victory and his place in the quarterfinal.

In the girl’s divisions, Kristina Tkach (Russia) secured her place in the quarter-final with 7:2 decisive victory over Seo Seoa (South Korea). Being one of the favourites in this tournament Kristina is getting to her best game which allows team Europe to hope for the best.
