After 6 days of 127 matches of the competition, The 5th World Chinese Eight Ball Masters Grand Final came down into to the Final in Qinhuangdao China.
ZHANG Kunpeng had outstanding performance in this tournament so far. In the first two matches, he defeated Singh Lilly (IND) and ZHAO Ruliang clearly with 13:5 & 13:2. Then victories over LI Hui 13:9, DAI Yong 13:4, Francisco Diaz Pizarro 18:9, and SHEN Chongyang 13:10. Winning four matches continuously booked him a seat in the Final match.
His opponent Gareth Potts, took down two Chinese players WU Hao 13:9 and WANG Peng 13:8 in his first two matches. However, XI Hongyu upset Potts with 10:11 in the winner’s round 3 and sent Potts to the loser’s side. Potts have to come through a long way from loser’s side by overcoming XIE Zhaohui 13:11, Albin Ouschan 13:11, DAI Yong 15:10, WANG Peng 12:5, Francisco Diaz Pizarro 13:6. Then he faced XI Hongyu again in the loser’s round 10, this time Potts crushed XI with 13:6 to take the revenge. Potts finally conquered SHEN Chongyang 13:10 in the loser’s round 11 to earn his ticket for the Final.
The FINAL will be played between Gareth Potts and ZHANG Kunpeng of China, the winner will be pocketed $300,000 RMB. The match begin at 1 pm Beijing Time (GMT +8).
中國秦皇島”喬氏盃”中式八球國際大師賽全球總決賽在經過了六天127場比賽激烈的競爭後，將在今天進入到最後決賽階段。
張堃鵬在本屆比賽中表現的相當出色。首兩場比賽以13:5、13:2大比分差距擊敗來自印度的Singh Lilly與16歲年輕小將趙汝亮。再接連拿下李輝 (13:9)、代勇 (13:4)、西班牙的Francisco Diaz Pizarro (18:9)，最後在勝部第六輪以13:10重挫申重陽後，為自己率先取得決賽席次。
而他的對手Gareth Potts前兩場比賽同樣順利地以13:9、13:8分別取勝於吳浩和王鵬。但在勝部第三輪，140分鐘比賽時間已到的情況下，Potts最終以10:11敗給溪紅羽而跌入到敗部。再進入到敗部後的Potts，從敗部第五輪起接連戰勝了謝召輝 (13:11)、Albin Ouschan (13:11)、代勇 (15:10)、王鵬 (12:5)、Francisco Diaz Pizarro (13:6)。敗部第十輪再度遭遇到將自己送進敗部的溪紅羽，這次Potts以14:8擊敗溪紅羽也為自己復仇。而從敗部裡兜了一大圈的Potts實也是關關難過關關過，在敗部第11輪以13:10重挫並粉碎了申重陽最後的一絲希望後，終於為自己贏得了決賽門票。
