The health and safety of our players, staff and spectators is our main priority at all Matchroom Pool events.

Currently, there are no plans to cancel or postpone the forthcoming World Pool Masters in Gibraltar. However, following a Cabinet policy decision taken by HM Government of Gibraltar based on expert advice, the tournament will have a limit of 100 spectators per session.

In addition, HM Government of Gibraltar has issued regulations including a legal duty for travellers arriving in Gibraltar within two weeks of travel to an at-risk country to report to authorities on arrival.

The list of at-risk countries is:

  • China
  • Thailand
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Hong Kong
  • Taiwan
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • Macau
  • Iran
  • Italy
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Myanmar
  • Vietnam
  • Tenerife

Matchroom Pool has contacted players from countries listed above and can confirm that no player will have been in one of the at-risk countries within 14 days of arrival to Gibraltar.

Matchroom Pool are closely monitoring the situation and will follow advice from the World Health Organisation and HM Government of Gibraltar. Any new cases from hereon in will be reviewed.

We would like to draw the attention of anyone who attends any of our events to the following general advice:

– Frequently clean your hands in soap and water, or with an alcohol-based hand rub. Matchroom Pool will endeavour to provide additional hand sanitizers where possible;
– If you cough or sneeze, please cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue – throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands;
– Avoid contact with anyone who has a fever or cough;
– Avoid unnecessary contact with ‘high touch’ areas such as handrails, lift buttons, door handles, surfaces etc;
– If you experience difficulty breathing, have a high temperature or cough, please stay at home and contact a medical advisor by phone;
– Players are entitled, should they wish, not to shake hands or have any other form of physical contact with their opponent or officials (for example at the start and end of their match);
– Spectators are advised that during this time players may not feel comfortable interacting with fans to their usual level and so it may be more difficult to obtain autographs or pictures with players. Spectators are thanked for their understanding at this time.
