Captains To Be Announced In Coming Weeks
The European Pocket Billiard Federation today announced its team to face the Americans during this year’s staging of the Atlantic Challenge Cup taking place 5 – 8, July, 2017 in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The European team consists of Russia’s Maksim Dudanets, Poland’s Daniel Maciol and Wiktor Zielinski and Germany’s Patrick Hofmann. On the girls’ side are Russia’s Kristina Tkach and Belgium’s Diana Khodjaeva. Maksim and Kristina have qualified for the European team for the third time and played key roles in both of Europe’s Atlantic Challenge Cup victories.
“No player will take our 2015 and 2016 victories for granted” said EPBF president Gre Leenders. “They have the upmost respect for the American players and know that what happened in the past is history. The moment they step out into that arena they will be focused on the job at hand. The fact we have returning players will be valuable to the new team members.”
Launched in 2015, the Atlantic Challenge Cup features the best youth players from Europe and America in a Mosconi Cup style event. Six players on each team, four boys and two girls, battle it out on an annual basis to see who has bragging rights across the Atlantic. The event is the result of a joint venture between the Billiard Congress of America and the European Pocket Billiard Federation.

第三屆的大西洋挑戰盃 (Atlantic Challenge Cup) 將於7月5-8日在奧地利克拉根福 (Klagenfurt) 登場。歐洲撞球協會 (EPBF) 於近日公布了今年將迎戰美國隊的成員陣容。
獲選參與本屆大西洋挑戰盃的歐洲青年隊成員，男子選手將由俄羅斯的Maksim Dudanets，德國 Patrick Hoffman以及來自波蘭的Daniel Maciol與Wiktor Zielinski組成。女子選手方面，則將由俄羅斯的年輕好手Kristina Tkach與比利時的Diana Khodjaeva出任。其中，今年已是兩位俄羅斯的年輕小將Maksim與Kristina第三次入選代表隊，兩人也替歐洲隊在大西洋挑戰盃的勝利中發揮了關鍵作用。而隨著公布參賽隊員名單，領隊人選也將再於近期公布。
“沒有任何一位球員會將我們連續兩年的勝利視作理所當然。當他們走進賽場的那一刻，他們將全心專注在比賽當中。” EPBF 歐洲撞球協會主席Gre Leenders說道。
大西洋挑戰盃 (Atlantic Challenge Cup) 是一項由 EPBF 歐洲撞球協會 (European Pocket Billiard Federation)與 BCA 美國撞球協會 (Billiard Congress of America) 於2015年所創辦的一項新賽事，猶如莫斯考尼杯的青少年版，進行歐洲隊及美國隊的團體對抗賽，每隊將由4位男子及2位女子選手組成。
