2016 Juniors 9-Ball World Championship for U17 Boys, U19 Boys and U19 Girls is set to kick off next week in Shanghai, China. This event is hosted by the SHBA (Shanghai Billiards Association) and this year will once again take place at the Shanghai Huimin Middle School from November 17th-20th.
This is the third straight year for the Juniors 9-Ball World Championship to take place in Shanghai. However, this event will move to Russia next year.
The event format will be Double Elimination with race to 9 for U19 Boys, race to 7 for U17 Boys & Girls. 4 players from the winner bracket and 4 players from the loser bracket will advance to quarter-final. In the knockout stage, U19 Boys will race to 11, while U17 race to 8 and Girls race to 9 and alternate breaks will be applied.
Each category has 32 players. A total of 96 players from 24 countries will participate and the youngsters will fight for medal and honor in the competition. They will acquire greatly from the experience of competing against the world’s best young players.
2016世界青少年錦標賽下周將於上海開賽。此賽事由上海市台球協會主辦，比賽將於11月17 – 20日在上海回民中學拉開序幕。今年也是世青賽連續第三年在上海舉辦，而也將是最後一年，明天賽事將會移師俄羅斯舉辦。
比賽第一階段為雙敗淘汰，U19青年組為搶9局、U17少年組及女子組搶7局。勝部4名選手及敗部4名選手將晉級到最後8強。在單敗淘汰階段，U19青年組 搶11局、U17少年組 搶8局，女子組則搶9局。比賽採輪流衝球制。
每個分組將各有32名選手，屆時將有來自世界24個國家共96名球員參賽。所有代表參賽的小球員們，將對決世界上最優秀的年輕球員們，展開激烈的同台競爭。對於年輕球員們而言，也將從比賽競爭當中獲得豐碩的經驗。而此賽事為一項無獎金制的比賽，贏得冠軍的球員，除獎牌及獎狀為獎勵之外，當然還有”世界冠軍”的頭銜。
